Geological Consultancy and Geohazard Services
The Fugro Global Geohazards Group provides qualitative and quantitative geohazard analysis and risk assessment
for offshore field developments, mainly in deep water environments. The geohazards group combines expertise from
the survey, geotechnical and geoscience divisions, and includes geoscientists, engineers, and other specialists with
extensive and varied offshore experience.
Offshore geohazards are described as natural processes or phenomena that may have an adverse effect on operations, siting,
design and construction of offshore facilities. Examples of offshore geohazards are:
- slope instability
- active submarine channels and turbidity currents
- shallow (pressurised) gas and gas hydrates
- active faulting and seismicity
- mud volcanoes
- complex seabed morphology.
A global network of geohazard experts with extensive experience in the field of geohazard identification and analysis allows Fugro to
provide comprehensive geohazard assessment for offshore field development anywhere in the world. Geohazard experts include those on
