Fugro Offshore Geotechnics have a purpose built in-house laboratory scale model testing facility in the UK which has been commissioned to undertake physical validation and calibration of both manual and numerical analyses undertaken for complex soil / structure interaction problems. The model testing can also be used to discover and investigate interaction mechanisms which may not be incorporated into such analyses and also provides an excellent physical visualisation of these mechanisms.
